Blog News Ngayon Contributors Anyone?

Are you a blog addict?

Then you're in for a chance of a lifetime!

I'm currently looking for fellow blog-hopping-writing addicts out there who can help out with Blog News Ngayon. As I mentioned on my first post, it will really take a lot of effort and time to maintain a blog like this and a little help will definitely be a good choice. 

Not only will it lessen the burden of updating this often but as they say, two heads (or three) are better than one! 

Here are a few qualifications that I've jotted down to find the perfect partner on this emerging blog site. Please find time to browse through them and see if you're the "ONE" that I'm looking for -

• 18 years old and above
• A Filipino/Pinoy Blogger
• Good writing and communicating style
• Maintains a blogsite every now and then
• Has easy and accessible internet connection at home/office
• Can browse through a lot of blogs on a daily/weekly basis
• Can contribute 1 or 2 articles on a weekly basis
• Offers his articles free of charge
• Responsible, Honest and has Integrity

You might be wondering how many will I identify to join me here and the magic number is "2". I don't want to give false hope to a lot of people and another 2 persons with access to the blog I guess will do for now.

I would just like to stress-out that unlike other blogs that offers good pay per article, Blog News Ngayon will not be able to do so since I intend to look for bloggers who are willing to do this with me "pro-bono" (like me). But I assure you that you'll get the full exposure of your blog, the freedom to share anything under the sun and the full recognition of your achievements and many more!

Pinoy Blogger's Directory or Updates?

I've been trying to figure out what can be a good post to start this new project and I ended up clueless after an hour staring blankly at my laptop before dinnertime.

I tried googling down the word "pinoy blogger" to break the "writer's block". As soon as I hit the enter key, I ended up with 859,000 search results in 0.20 seconds (that's fast!). Thank GOD for google search engine's reliability!

An Intriguing Discovery

Trying to identify the good blogs in the search results allowed me to disregard Pinoy Bloggers Directory, which is on the no. 1 spot instead of their blog page couterpart, Pinoy Blogger's Updates. This led me to the question, why will a blog site be taken over by the directory?

I tried browsing through their site and here's what I got:

About The Website

The Pinoy Blogger's Directory is a directory website of blogs owned and managed by Filipinos through out the world.

Most of the blogs included on this directory are manually added by the people administering it and some are added by their respective owners.

Additional Informative Pages

There are a total of 208 websites/blogs that are registered in the website with Personal blogs getting the bigger chunk of the pie on the category page.

They also have the blog page wherein they share tips on the "how to's" of blogging and an update page for the different blogs that is linked directly to their site. Here's a tip I found out when browsing through the site - click the Your Blog Updates link and you'll be directed to their other website's page Pinoy Blogger's Updates with different tabs!

Which is which?

 

To break the confusion about the 2 pages, it is actually under one domain name only. The main purpose of the blog at first was to become an internet entity to drive in blogs in the Philippines to post their links with the site.

I guess they had a technical issue for the site to be down and decided to add up an additional page for updates and other informative pages.

Final Thoughts

Given that the no. 1 slot for Google search engine (as of June 19, 2010) is Pinoy Blogger's Directory, I'm registering Blog News Ngayon in their website soon and I kind of remember registering my personal blogsite before, I wonder what happened about my previous request...

The Blog Idea

Blog News Ngayon is an experimental blog that deals about the many topics I read online through the years. For the past three years, browsing through Pinoy blogs and reading their stories and opinions has been part of my daily habit before going to bed. Having the opportunity to peak in the different kinds of blogs nowadays brings me to perspective on why I personally maintain Melankoliko Dialogo, making sure that I still makes sense after four or five years.

Blogs also became a good avenue for me to receive updates and get news from the latest happenings around the country and the globe, especially that I don't own a television/radio in my apartment (for now).

The idea to create a blog like BNN was strengthened after browsing through Topblogs and seeing hundreds of interesting sites the Pinoy blogosphere has to offer. Each category varies and relates to so many topics and issues that affects our daily lives and our community as a whole and a project like this can be beneficial both ways for  (us) bloggers and (our) readers who doesn't have the time to click all one hundred links in a day.

Now, I know that having another blog about blogs can be a bad idea (and a waste of time and money) but I truly believe in the idea of trying it out and see how this goes later on.

Blog News Ngayon will be an an informal news blog with the main objective of featuring new and  famous bloggers alike, share some of the important updates related to blogging (and in being a good citizen) and probably blog about the never ending stories we can always find through the internet nowadays. Simply put, this blog will rant about everything other than killing a blog for that matter.
